Our History

History Of
Right To Care Zambia

2001 - Background

RTCZ traces its roots to Right to Care (RTC), a South African based NGO founded in 2001. The parent organization emerged in response to the severe HIV/AIDS epidemic in Southern Africa, at a time when access to antiretroviral therapy (ART) was extremely limited and public health systems were under-resourced.

Our national footprint, however, extends beyond our current geographic scope. Through past projects and in collaboration with other partners, we have successfully implemented health initiatives in:

  • Central Province (Kabwe district)
  • Southern Province
  • Eastern Province
The map illustrates both our current provincial coverage and the districts where we have previously worked.
