RTCZ is committed to operational excellence and delivering the highest standards of patient care. During the EQUIP project, we engaged 693 volunteers across Muchinga, Northern, and Luapula provinces. As part of a strategic initiative to strengthen service delivery and uphold our core values, we transitioned 1,227 lay counselors from a volunteer model to fixed-term employment under the Action HIV to Epidemic Control project.

This investment in human resources yielded significant outcomes:

  • Enhanced Service Quality: Reduced staff turnover led to more consistent and experienced care of clients.
  • Empowered Counselors: Stable employment, competitive remuneration, and defined career pathways fostered professional growth.
  • Strengthened Program Capacity: A skilled, dedicated, and sustainable workforce was established to support long-term program success.
  • Additionally, 38 counselors transitioned to new roles as follows:
  • Six (6) as motorbike riders.
  • One (1) as an office assistant. Thirty-three (33) Lay Counselors were promoted to Professional Counselors positions.
  • One (1) Professional Counselor was promoted to HTS hub lead position.
  • Fifteen (15) promoted to Strategic Information Assistant positions.

We applaud everyone who made these achievements possible and commend the employees for their dedication to growth. As we move forward, we remain committed to creating more opportunities for professional development, ensuring our people continue to excel and make lasting impact in the community we serve. This commitment is a testament to the ambition and potential that drive our organization forward.
