This was a US$3,068,424 over a period of three years. The Scaling Up Early Childhood Development in Zambia (SUpErCDZ-USAID) project provided innovative early childhood development (ECD) interventions aimed at improving physical and cognitive health outcomes for children aged 0–6 years in the Eastern and Southern provinces of Zambia. This project was implemented by RTCZ in partnership with Boston University School of Public Health and the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute. The project delivered an evidence-based ECD curriculum through community-based parenting groups to enhance child development outcomes. It enrolled 4,126 caregiver-child pairs, reaching 5,364 children under the age of five (5), and distributed the Zambian Folktales Children’s book to 48,202 children. Additionally, the project significantly increased caregiver knowledge on nutrition and child stimulation through playful parenting and built capacity in head caregivers to conduct parenting sessions at community level.
