The Stock Visibility Solution (SVS) is a digital platform that replaces outdated, paper-based stock reporting with real-time data collection and reporting. This system is designed to help health facilities minimize stock outs and enhance the availability of essential medicines, such as antiretroviral drugs (ARV’s), tuberculosis (TB) medications, and vaccines.
A key function of SVS was its critical role in monitoring reagent inventory levels, which enabled proactive decision-making for resupply. The system underscored the necessity of placing early orders to prevent shortages within the three Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) laboratories. By providing vital, real-time data, SVS significantly contributed to maintaining consistent supplies of essential medicines at high-priority facilities. This innovative solution ensured patients reliably received their treatments, thereby optimizing health outcomes.
SVS was deployed 240 peripheral health facilities supported by RTCZ during the EQUIP project. Evidence of this success can be demonstrated by a clear link between a sustained availability (mean of 92%) of key tracer commodities and the significant uptake (85%) onto the MMD program.
